Traditional Chinese medicine gets 21st century makeover

     A Chinese company is pushing for greater acceptance of traditional Chinese medicine with a machine that can dispense a prescription much like a cup of instant coffee. The manufacturers hope the machine will make the idea of traditional medicine more attractive in western cultures. Tara Cleary reports.

   新型的中药配方颗粒保留了中药饮片的全成分，经过提取、过滤、浓缩等工序加工成颗粒或粉末状。和中药饮片一样的是，一种中药配方颗粒并不能治疗某种疾病，而需要多种配方颗粒同时使用。只是不用像中药饮片那样费劲地“煎熬”，一冲即得，就如同冲一杯速溶咖啡。
