英语调查报告写作指导

一、写作要求

1.写调查报告时首先应交代写作目的。调查报告的写作目的往往是为了反映社会现象，以便提出改进措施，因此可使用“ I have recently made a survey about …”这一句型。

　　2.写调查报告时根据写作需要可适当交代采访范围、采访对象、采访人数、采访话题，以增强数据的可信度和结论的权威性。此时可使用“In this survey， …were interviewed. They were asked…”或“In our survey we interviewed…. We asked them…”当然也可以将采访范围、采访对象、采访人数和调查目的一起表达，如2006年青海中考英语书面表达题参考答案的首句就为： I have recently made a survey among 30 boys and 30 girls in our school about their purpose of getting on the Internet.

　　3.接着应交代调查结果。交代数据时应根据话题需要重新安排表达顺序，如使用 “Here are the results：”来连接具体内容。表达数据时应尽可能使用求同求异的方法反映数据规律，以便清楚地揭示社会现象。此时可使用“About the same number of…/ The number of…is almost the same as the number of…”交代相关数据时也不一定直接使用数据，可使用一些约数，如almost/more than/less than fifty percent （half） of…。如果两个数据数值悬殊，可在一起进行表达，以增加对比度，从而吸引人们关注。

　　4.不少调查报告还要求考生在表达好数据后说明它反映的社会问题和产生的原因，并提出改进措施，此时可使用“The chart shows…/ There are… reasons for it/We should take measures to…”来表达其主要内容。

　　

二、正确把握写作时态，提高语言准确性

　　调查报告的时态表达应以一般现在时为主。也有一些调查报告以时间为顺序。反映数据在时间上的变化应以一般过去时为主，反映现在的数据应以一般现在时为主。本文反映现阶段男女学生上网目的，因此全文应使用一般现在时。

　　

三、用好特色语言，增强表达效果

　　调查报告的语言具有很强的规律性：“做调查”可用“do/make/carry out a survey”；“做采访”可用“…were interviewed”或 “we interviewed…”；反映调查内容可用“the survey shows that…”;反映数量变化可用“rise/go up/grow， drop/go down， more than， less than， more and more”；反映现象间相互关系可用“as…as…， the same…as…， be different from…”；反映数量比例可用“four-fifths， eighty percent， half of， a quarter of， three times as…as…，more than…， the number of …is…”；交代新时期新变化可用“Great changes have taken place in…， now …has taken on a new look”；介绍数据评价性语言可用“as large as， as many as， up to， more or less， or so”；交代社会现象产生背景可用“be caused by， be made by， lead to”；提出改进措施时可用“I think we should …/ In my opinion， we should…”。

　　

四、用好过渡性词汇，增强行文逻辑性

　　调查报告常见的过渡性词汇有：表示对比关系的“but， however， while”；表示递进关系的“what’s more/besides”；表示因果关系的“thanks to， as a result （of）， therefore”；表示转折关系的“however， but， yet”；表示并列关系的“for one thing，on the one hand”；表总结的“in a word/in short”；表示情感态度的“to our surprise，to our joy，”；表示行文过渡的“as a rule，generally speaking，as we all know”。
