Would you mind...？是初中英语中的一个重要句型，全国各地历年的中考题均有涉及，常用于表示请求，意思是“请你做……你是否介意？”“请你做……好吗？”是一种比较客气的表达方式。下面我们一起来学习一下这一句型的用法。

　　一、Would you mind ＋ doing sth.？其中mind之后接动词时，要用v.-ing形式。如：

　　Would you mind opening the window？打开窗户好吗？

　　Would you mind listening to the teacher carefully？ 仔细听老师说话好吗？

　　二、Would you mind ＋ not doing sth.？在v.-ing形式之前加not，表示请求对方不要做某事。如：

　　Would you mind not sitting in front of me？请你不要坐在我前面好吗？

　　Would you mind not telling a lie？请你不要撒谎好吗？

　　三、Would you mind ＋所有格＋v.-ing形式＋其他？表示请求对方允许某人做某事。如：

　　Would you mind my smoking here？我在这里吸烟你介意吗？

　　Would you mind my having an apple？我吃个苹果你介意吗？

　　对于这一句型的回答，如果你表示听从对方的提议，即表示“不反对，不介意，可以”，可说No, not at all / Not at all（完全不介意）或Of course not/ Certainly not/ Surely not。当然，有时根据句子的意思，也可以用较灵活的应答语。如：

　　— Would you mind teaching me？你介意教教我吗？— Not at all. 一点也不介意。

　　— Would you mind coming and checking it？你介意过来检查一下吗？— OK. I’ll be there soon. 好的，我很快就到。

　　如果你要拒绝对方的提议，表示反对或介意，可以说I’m sorry，but.../ I’m afraid you can’t / I’m afraid you’d better not 等表示委婉的拒绝。有时也用Yes，please don’t 应答。如：

　　—Would you mind turning off the light in the room？ 请你把房间里的灯关掉好吗？

　　—I’m sorry. But I haven’t finished my homework yet. 对不起，我的作业还没完成。

　　友情提示

　　1. 这一句型可用Do you mind...？来代替，但语气上较生硬，不如Would you mind...？客气和委婉。

　　2. 表示委婉地向别人提出要求，还可以用Could you please do sth.？或Would you please do sth.？

　　— Would you please help me with my English？ 你能帮我学英语吗？

        — Of course. 当然可以。

　　— Could you help me to clean the classroom this afternoon？ 今天下午你能帮我打扫教室吗？

      — I’m sorry, but I have to help my mom with my little sister this afternoon. 对不起，今天下午我得帮我妈妈照顾我的小妹妹。
