歌曲由挪威的Ylvis兄弟组合创作演唱，兄弟俩出生于松恩，在卑尔根长大，是三兄弟中年轻的两个。他们曾接受古典乐器的训练，但不久后都选择了放弃。哥哥转而专注于吉他、歌曲和喜剧，弟弟专注于歌曲、喜剧和杂技。两人的脱口秀节目Tonight with Ylvis(今晚和伊尔维萨克兄弟在一起)很受欢迎，《狐狸叫》是他们为了宣传新一季节目而制作的宣传歌。
